By Don Aters, Legendary Rock Photographer & Historian:

“Songbirds of Alabama, both Lauren Murphy & Molly Thomas are evocative, seductive and of course, unlike most of today’s genre, elegant. Their redolence of where they have been, Nashville and San Francisco are clues as they are the musical genius’s. The nascent sounds seem to echo from the surrounding venues of the era and songs that define the masses; the optimism of love and survival that transcend from year to year. Both have acquired instrumental ability, verifying the distaff of women that matter. In tandem, their musical truism lauds to the storied women songwriters of "The Golden Age of Rock and Roll".

Molly Thomas began playing violin as a child in Mississippi, and it has taken her around the world. Having shared the stage with names like Todd Snider, Will Hoge, Matthew Ryan, Mando Saenz, Amelia White, Will Kimbrough, Tommy Womack and K.S. Rhodes, her geunine sound is one that resonates with everyone. She is unfiltered ‘south. Molly’s music is a reflection of the ingredients of the human spirit and her recent album, "Make Everything Bright", provides a perfect snapshot in which to relate. Julie Hight of 'The Nashville Scene Critics Picks' writes; "She’s a roots-pop singer-songwriter with a strong point-of-view and a way of expressing it that leaves the sharp edges on, often to exhilarating result. There are moments on her new album , which she co-produced with Robert Plant drummer Marco Giovino, when she comes off like a southern Sam Phillips."
